Sawdust Festival

I usually like to plan something fun for the weekend (we work hard, we play hard) but last week was super busy, so I didn't really have anything for us to do....and then I remembered, The Sawdust Festival is going on in Laguna Beach right now!  just a short drive down PCH too :)

We had a couple of beers, a glass of wine and ate some lunch while listening to some live music...

My favorite pieces at Sawdust are always the blown glass and ceramics, I would buy all the pretty bowls if I could.

I did end up buying a lovely little ceramic bowl from the festival to put some succulents in I had bought the day before...I love owning one of a kind pieces and actually meeting the artists that create the art, it feels special to me.

Weekend Getaway in Paso Robles

As a sort of belated birthday trip for myself, me and Daniel headed down to Paso Robles for a little weekend getaway for some wine tasting and relaxation.  It's only four hours away from where we live in Huntington Beach so it was perfect for a mini vacation.

We stayed at a little bed and breakfast on a winery in Templeton.  it was super homey and we loved it.

our favorite wineries we visited had to be Halter Ranch and Tablas Creek...delicious wines there!
It was a scorching 110 degrees in Paso Robles so I thought a glass of Rosé was appropriate.

On the way to dinner we saw some pretty horsies and we decided to say hi to them.

For dinner we went to Mcphee's Grill in Templeton on Daniel's Aunt and Uncle's recommendation.
The food did not disappoint.  I had a goat cheese stuffed chicken breast and Daniel ordered the jambalaya pasta...both were really good.

The next day we hit up a couple more wineries and then went to the Firestone Walker Brewery.  We ate lunch there and drank some good beers.  We had such a great time in Paso and the best part is it's only 4 hours away.  I hope to go back really soon, maybe when the temperature drops a bit!
